Arborfield Animal Sanctuary
Arborfield Sanctuary is dedicated to the memories of Aaron Rae and Kate Russell.
Founded in June 2012, Arborfield Sanctuary is located near Wellsford, north of Auckland, on 40 acres of land. Now, in 2016, we are full to bursting with alpacas, pigs, donkeys, goats, sheep, cows, hens and 66 roosters! It is our intention to provide a safe, permanent and loving home for abused, neglected or abandoned farm animals.
We also strive to make meaningful changes for farmed animals through advocacy and education. We are working in conjunction with other sanctuaries, animal welfare organisations and vets.
Arborfield Sanctuary is not open to the public but visits can be arranged if you contact us and we are happy to welcome pre-school, school or other community groups.
Become a sponsor and help the animals
The health and welfare of any animal requires a lot of financial input and your sponsorship of an animal would greatly assist us in providing food, shelter and any necessary medical care. Take a look at the animals and you may find one that you would like to sponsor. Sponsorship gives you the right to visit and spend time with the animal of your choice.
